Meet with San Diego Mesa College counselors early and often to discuss your transfer plans
Meet with representatives from four-year institutions early and often to learn more about the schools and the programs they offer. (Please refer to the Transfer Center Newsletter for a calendar of events and college representatives' visitation dates and times.)
Take advantage of career services, which include career planning, Personal Growth classes, and career assessment tests to help you decide on a major.
Find out if any special articulation agreements exist regarding the institution you plan to transfer to and the program you want to study. (Articulation agreements can be found at www.assist.org.)
Attend transfer events and other programs designed to help transfer students.
Visit the schools you are interested in transferring to.
Shop around for the school that best meets your needs with regard to cost, programs, and location.
Meet with your instructors and get feedback from them about careers and transfer.
Visit the Transfer Links website to get information on the institutions you are interested in.
To ensure accuracy of information, speak with a Mesa College counselor and the represenatitive from the institution you plan to transfer to regarding new transfer information. This is especially important since transfer information changes frequently; keep up to date with the latest changes!
