**Alternate Administrative Co-chairs for Steering Committee

Purpose:

To guide the development of the Basic Skills Initiative at San Diego Mesa College in line with established state guidelines as follows:

  • Carry out the Basic Skills Initiative self-assessment and establish action and expenditure plans.
  • Review and recommend short- and long-term activities for the 2007-2008 academic year and beyond.
  • Advise on the development and implementation of curriculum and services, especially in Mathematics, to address the new graduation requirements to be implemented Fall 2009.
  • Review research information, quantitative and qualitative, on student success and retention at Mesa College.
  • Recommend activities based on research findings. Provide guidance on the implementation of the findings from the CCSSE Research, the Silver Process, and other research activities on student success.
