Purpose
To guide the development of the Basic Skills Initiative at San Diego Mesa College in line with established state guidelines as follows:
- Carry out the Basic Skills Initiative self-assessment and establish action and expenditure plans.
- Review and recommend short- and long-term activities.
- Advise on the development and implementation of curriculum and services to address the new graduation requirements to be implemented Fall 2009.
- Review research information, quantitative and qualitative, on student success and retention at Mesa College. Recommend activities based on research findings.
- Provide guidance on the implementation of the findings from the CCSSE Research and other research activities on student success.
